When you are famous and/or rich, it is hard to humble yourself before God. This appears in the church too. Often the wealthy givers are given special privileges or attention. We will all stand before Jesus Christ alone.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his due for the things done in the body, whether good or bad. Therefore, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men.” – 2 Corinthians 10:10-11
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” – Luke 14:11
“But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” – James 4:6
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” – James 4:10
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you.” – 1 Peter 5:6
